Welcome to Aspen Senior Referral in Northern California. Whether you're searching for an assisted living community or require assistance in exploring other care options, we are here to lend a hand. Our communication with you will be both accessible and consistent. You don't have to go through this process alone!
Navigating the process of making the right care decision for your loved one can be a challenging task. With numerous options and unfamiliar terminology, Aspen Senior Referral of Northern California is here to simplify the process, making it easier for you to make informed choices and alleviating the stress associated with such crucial decisions.
Our team of Certified Senior Advisors meticulously assesses locations, ranging from mid-to-larger size communities to smaller residential care homes. We personally engage with staff, residents, and family members whenever possible. State reports are thoroughly reviewed to inform you of any citations or complaints issued against a particular provider. With comprehensive knowledge and experience in all facets of senior living, from Independent Living to Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing, we are well-equipped to guide you.
Your Advisor will meet with you in person to discuss your options and accompany you on visits to places that align with your criteria. We ensure that all your questions are answered and assist with paperwork and negotiations. The hallmark of our service commitment is being by your side every step of the way.
Our placement services come at no cost to you, as we are paid a referral fee by the communities and care homes. In the rare case where we are not contracted with a community, your Advisor will communicate this upfront and explain any potential fees if you choose that location. We prioritize total transparency and respect your right to choice.

At times, our families require assistance with challenging transitions, navigating endless decision-making processes, and maneuvering through a complex healthcare system. This may involve facilitating crucial conversations among family members, locating a skilled nursing facility, selecting a home care agency or caregiver, managing long-distance caregiving, finding the right resources, and learning how to access them. We also offer regular visits to your loved one, providing "peace of mind" when you are unable to be present.
Having support during these challenging times can be reassuring. We act as partners who are outside the emotional landscape of the family, conducting research, engaging with providers, organizing paperwork, and identifying those hard-to-find resources – serving as a go-to person when things become overwhelming. We recognize that no care plan is one-size-fits-all; therefore, we customize our services to meet the unique needs of your family. As your advocates on this often difficult journey, we assist you in tracking the endless details.
Our initial consultation comes at no cost, providing an opportunity for you and your Advisor to get to know each other and determine if working together is a good fit to address your specific needs.

Having an advocate by your side can be akin to having a good friend, especially in complex situations. Navigating the healthcare system often involves a barrage of information, making it nearly impossible to handle and decipher alone. As your advocate and coach, we strive to ensure that everyone comprehends the information being provided and that your questions are addressed appropriately.
A third party who is outside of the emotional landscape of the family during tough decision-making can be a great benefit. Each family has its own dynamic and a coach can help make sure everyone is heard and seen, and that everyone is treated fairly, even if you don’t all agree. Your coach can help your family find consensus or at least encourage everyone’s point of view to be voiced and listened to calmly. We are not therapists. We are trained to empower families to move forward with whatever process is most beneficial. Initial consultations are always offered at no charge.
The Beyond Driving with Dignity training and certification program is crafted to assist senior drivers and their families in navigating the complex issue of age-related diminishing driving skills. This program aids older drivers with declining skills in making a seamless transition from the driver's seat to the passenger seat, while ensuring that the individual can maintain as much independence as possible.
This program has been meticulously crafted to serve as an essential tool for assisting older drivers (and their families) in making informed decisions about the future of their safe driving career. For individuals who are deemed safe drivers, we provide strategies on how to maintain their safety as they navigate the aging process. In cases where driving retirement is deemed appropriate, we offer the individual (and their family) potential alternatives, resources, and a specific plan to ensure a smooth and successful transition from the driver's seat to the passenger seat.
